Hello Saskatoon !
A plan of action was decided last night at Amigos and goes as follows:
RALLY!
to occur on
SATURDAY JANUARY 23
at
CITY HALL
at
1:00 pm !
If you have facebook, invite all your friends to the event ! :

And what do we hope to accomplish on this day? :
- To educate the public on what is happening, why it matters, and what this could lead to
- Create a space to address the issues that are being avoided in Parliament
- Build a grassroots movement
- Ask people to think about what ‘democracy’ really means and how that is or is not being reflected by our current government
What you can do! :
- Stop by Turning The Tide (alternative bookstore just off Broadway behind Lydia’s on 11th st.) and pick up posters to put up around the city
- Volunteer to take photos during the rally
- Find musical performers for the event (keep in mind the possible cold weather!)
- Tell anyone and everyone you know to come out, learn, and make their voice heard !
Unfortunately I can’t make it this Saturday since I have to work but best of luck for a strong showing.
I am helping with the Regina rally, but I would like a jpeg of the Saskatoon rally poster to put on our website for our local (Cope 397). This is the local for SGI employees, and we already have the Regina poster up. If someone could forward a jpeg of the Saskatoon poster, that would be greatly appreciated. Please send it to:
union-cope@sgi.sk.sa
We live in the north of the Province and cannot, unfortunately, make the Rally. However, some speaker should ask, no demand that those Parliamentarians who do not turn up for work on Monday donate their AWOL pay to the Haitian Disaster fund. The media has given us ordinary folk a host of reputable sites for the donation of funds . Those shameful MP’s could, at the very least, donate their unearned pay to the Haiti fund.
If any of the recalcitrant MP’s turn up at the Rally, please ask them write out a cheque and the Red Cross will know what to do with it.
