   Just remember, this will be a peaceful, non partisan demonstration in support of the integrity of our democracy, not a protest against Mr. Tilson or Mr. Harper.

   I agree: non-partisan…in that preroging is hurting the Conservative voters as much as everyone of other stripes.

   I agree: it is in support of a fundamental basis of our democracy as opposed to a shabby defencive maneouvre.

   I disagree: this is a protest against Mr. Tilson who, in his printed comments is a Muppet…a glove-puppet who echoes the HQ of the Tory party. Where is his spine?

   I disagree: Mr. Harper is a shabby entrepreneur….

   and I will protest both.

   Sorry, mate, this is a demo., not a “make nice”, if one opposes, then let’s rock’n'roll.

   Why aren’t there any other people out there?
   Is this such a Conservative area that the Conservatives can’t even understand that preroging is harming their own party with the killing of potential Acts?

   I am unhappy with this situation as a tax payer and will attend a peaceful non-partisan demonstration to show this government my distaste for this prorogation

   (sorry about the delay in my response. I have been quite busy in the last few days.)

   There are many ways to contribute.

   I am going door to door taping small invitations to people’s doors. You can do this with me and the other organizers. We have about 3 600 invitations that we need to tape before Saturday… To see which streets we have done and which are available you can view this map I made:

   Danielle,

   To prorogue means to postpone something. Politically, it mans to discontinue a session of parliament.

   The government decided that it did not want to continue debating issues in The House of Commons and so they discontinued the sessions.

   Proroguing is constitutionally allowed. However, when a government prorogues twice in one year, that might be considered an abuse of government privileges. Especially since there were many important issues that needed to be debated, including many conservative party bills, and brought to light, like the afghan detainee issue.

   What made me decide to organize this protest in Bolton is this:

   The economy is getting back on its feet leaving many people in financial ruins. My family nearly had to sell our home on the north hill in order to survive the job cuts. I am left with a student debt. And in the midst of all this, the government takes a paid vacation. If they had an inch of decency they would contribute their vacation money (which properly belongs to us) to help us climb out of our financial ruins, or some charity aimed at helping people get back on their feet.
