Thank you for organizing this rally for the Barrie area. I’ll be there!

I, for one, want a responsible government. We are the political joke of the world right now.

We can’t allow Harper to scurry away from his responsibilities. Why is he delaying dealing with Canada allowing our detainees to be tortured in Afghanistan? Why is the governance of Canada so unimportant that Harper can shut down parliament for months? Why is he not dealing with the issues at hand?

We can’t allow this clown to hide… make him reconvene parliament or maybe it’s time to elect a new PM.

I will be there to protest proroguing parliament.

Hi Ann, Natalie and Dallis, we welcome you to the rally, everyone needs to show their support. Please come up and say hello when you see us, we will have name tags on. See you on Saturday!

Shouldn’t you have a chosen a more respectable area for your protest. Like most Canadians I have deep respect for our military and the lives lost in our various wars. I would hate to see our wonderful cenataph be disgraced with the presence of individuals who have no clue what they are protesting. We should be grateful that Mr. Harper did this as it will finally open up the senate to be reformed. As well it will stop the Liberals from using the unelected senate to stop necessary legislation that has lawfully passed the house of commons. Really Mr. Harper is fighting harder for democracy then you guys are.

  6. 6 Scott Tribe said at 9:42 am on January 22nd, 2010:

JD: get a clue. Harper killed all of his bills with prorogation, and in one instance it was his own Cabinet that delayed implementing a crime bill for 4 months that was speedily passed.

And I think you’re a disgrace for trying to hide behind the soldiers. Canada’s soldiers fought so protests like these could occur.

  7. 7 Helena Guergis says everyone in her riding thinks prorogation is hunky-dorey « Scott's DiaTribes said at 9:43 am on January 22nd, 2010:

[...] riding does have an anti-prorogue rally by the way: In Barrie between 1 -4 pm, for those folks who’d like to show her not everyone in her riding are “pleased” [...]
